As a single mother and full time graduate student, I’ve surpassed every limitation put in front of me allowing me to be the best mom.
We would like to thank you for supporting Timeya Hunter in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mother is, watching my daughter grow up overnight! She’s developed her own personality, feelings, and thoughts that play a large part in her everyday life. Watching her struggle with concepts such as learning what emotions she’s feeling, how's she’s supposed to channel them, and how to communicate efficiently is so rewarding in itself. Watching her exude love and kindness toward everyone she comes across is just a blessing in itself.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? My favorite memory of my daughter is when, I had to return to work due to being a single parent and dropping her off at daycare. As a first time parent, I was a mental wreck not knowing how she’d get along with other children, how she’d be treated when I wasn’t present, or just overall being separated from her for most of the day. When I picked her up, she was all smiles, loving and embracing the other kids alleviating any worries I had from that point on.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d put some of the money up for my daughter’s college fund, while using some to pursue a phD program to further my education. I want to be able to manage the money responsibility. The money would also allow us to be able to move into a home of our own in the process. I’m trying to break generational traumas, and give my daughter the best upbringing possible.
