Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing the growth and joy in my children. I always strive to ensure they get life experiences while also becoming good people with empathy for others. I love seeing when Greyson learns new skills and shares them with his sister, or when Malia overcomes another barrier with her Cerebral Palsy and defies the odds the doctors gave her at birth. I love seeing Kaiyah continue to grow and mature as an adult.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Honestly I will never forget the day each of them were born. Both were rainbow babies after years of loss and infertility. Greyson was an emergency c section that terrified us. Malia was born at 23 weeks and spent 6 months in the Nicu. They told me to prepare to lose her but we refused. She is our little miracle. Kaiyah is the one who made me a mom and I’m forever grateful for her.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would first pay off some of the medical debt we incurred with Malia’s health issues. Then we would take a family vacation to relax and truly enjoy each other and get away from the world of hospitals, doctors, procedures and appointments for just a little while.
