I recently left my abusive marriage with my son’s father and managed to still start my business while working full time to rebuild our lives
We would like to thank you for supporting Thessa Key in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
When I see my son becoming his own person, it reminds me that I’m capable of anything. He looks to me for strength, and in turn, I see that same bravery and courage reflected in him. Knowing that my resilience shapes his confidence makes every challenge worth it. Motherhood has pushed me to be my best, not just for myself, but for him as well. When I win, he wins and there’s nothing more rewarding than that.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I will never forget the day my son first said mama. This may be something minuscule to some, but it was just the thing I needed to fight for his future. No one wants to give their child a broken home, but hearing the word “mama” I knew my job was to protect him at all cost. I was in the middle of trying to hide tears due to the frustration of feeling stuck in abuse or having to raise a child all alone. His first word turned into the beginning of a transformation for our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d invest the 20,000 and continue building a future for my son by solidifying my business. I created hair product formulas while trying to help my hair grow after hair loss due to postpartum and stress. Now, I am working towards offering them to other moms and women facing the same struggle. This funding would cover manufacturing, branding, and marketing, which would turn my vision into reality creating a legacy that provides for my son and empowers others on their hair growth journey.
