Teresa Grant

I’m a single parent to an autistic superhero. He is who made me a super mom. This made our journey challenging, but not impossible!

We would like to thank you for supporting Teresa Grant in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part about being a mom is seeing BOTH of our growth. It’s a pleasure to see all of your hard work being reflected back to you. Parenthood doesn’t come with instructions or too many directions of resources. It’s rewarding to us both expanding our knowledge and growing together. In the end, the joy that comes from my baby is the best reward of them all.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My son was addicted to fruit for a very long time. One day we went grocery shopping, and as I went to grab a bag of grapes my baby decided to grab himself a peach. He ate that peach as if it was his first meal. The store was in awe as I was in shock.

What would you do with $20,000?

It is a dream of mine to open a center in ATL for the autism community. This center will provide resources for education, jobs, sensory rooms, RBTS, break area for parents, etc. I want to make a mark in my son’s community and I know I cannot do this alone!
