Tasheena Burnett

I’m not a super mom. I am just a mom. I make mistakes. I am imperfect. Yet, I show up everyday for my girls. I wake up and I show up.

We would like to thank you for supporting Tasheena Burnett in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing the best and the worst parts of me in another human being. Sometimes being a mom feels like being in an abusive relationship where you constantly give second chances and with nothing in return and other times it feels like the sun is setting right on your face and bursting through the seams of your heart. The love between a mom and her children is truly unmatched.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My favorite memory of me and my girls is doing yoga in the backyard. I had just started practicing and my girls were like 6 and 10 at the time so when I practiced they practiced and one time we were in the backyard just hanging out and the girls got the chair cover and used it as a mat to practice. It was such a sweet moment for me. As moms you are a mirror to your kids and the way they helped each other in their poses just melted my heart.

What would you do with $20,000?

What do moms normally do? Spend it on their kids. I am currently in the middle of making over my daughters bedrooms. I would use some on that and the other on their academics. My daughter who is now 16 is diagnosed with a mental illness and traditional school is not working for her so I would use some of the money to pay for an alternative placement. My 12yr old was admitted to catholic school so Ill try to get ahead on those payments as well.
