Tamona Saaga

My kids made me a super mom. I went from being a mom of 1 my own biological child, to raising my sisters 5 children. They’re my blessings.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my kids grow. The different stages they experience and I get to experience with them. I love seeing them in their own elements in school, sports, with church. I love just being with them and getting to witness who they will become as adults. My reward comes from knowing my kids are getting the best out of life I could give them. And I try to show them that the sky is the limit. The smiles on their faces mean the world to me.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The day that I saw my sisters kids get taken into child protective services was the day that I vowed to get them back and they would never have to worry about a thing when I did. All 5 of my nieces and nephews faces I will never forget. I thought to myself I would die if my own daughter ever was sent to foster care. The day that I got them back is the memory I want to remember. They were so happy and I told them I would never let them go again. I have had them ever since.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would buy a stable car for my family to get around in. It would help us out so much if we had a vehicle we didn’t have to make huge monthly payments on. As I am a single mother it’s hard to pay the bills. So I would make sure we had a reliable car. And take the kids out to do something fun! Also buy a tombstone for their mother’s grave. My sister. Thank you for the opportunity
