I am a single mother of two and have guardianship of my younger sister. I am an active-duty Army officer and a full-time master's student.
We would like to thank you for supporting Taisha Lockhart in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Above all, the greatest joy of being a mom is simply being called "Mom.".
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? When my son was four, I had joined the military and deployed to Iraq six months later. The moment I said goodbye to him is etched in my heart. I can still picture him sitting in his car seat in my mom's car, so playing his video game. As I cried, feeling the weight of leaving him behind, he looked up, wiped my tears, and comforted me in the sweetest way. He said, "Mommy, I'll be okay. Grandma’s going to take care of me, and I'll see you when you come back. His strength and resilience reassured me
What would you do with $20,000?I plan to retire from the military on June 1, 2027. Currently, I am in my second year of a master's degree program to become a clinical mental health counselor. The $20,000 I am seeking will assist me during my transition, as I will spend a year interning without pay. I also intend to save any remaining funds so that I can eventually start my own private practice when I am ready.
