The most rewarding part of being a mom to Kendrick is watching him grow into such a strong, loving, and joyful boy, knowing that everything I’ve poured into him through the hard days and the good ones is helping shape the amazing person he’s becoming. His smile, his hugs, and the way he looks at me like I’m his whole world… that’s what makes every sacrifice more than worth it.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One of the best memories I’ll never forget is from Kendrick’s speech therapy journey. I was holding a picture of the two of us together and pointed to the picture, asking, “Who is that?” When he said “Mommy,” I was overcome with emotion. It had been such a struggle to get him to speak, and hearing him finally say that word meant the world to me. I cried and held him close, not wanting to let go, because it was a moment of triumph that showed how far we’ve come.

What would you do with $20,000?

I work hard every day to provide for Kendrick, using my love and determination as my motivation. Without a car, it’s a struggle, but I plan to use any financial help to buy a car and pay for nursing school classes, so I can give Kendrick a better life and secure his future.
