I want kids from blended families to know how loved they are. I am a mental health therapist specializing in the postpartum population.
You decide who will appear in Woman's World magazine, enjoy a weekend getaway in Napa, and take home $20,000
For me, watching them and helping them in cultivating lifetime skills of empathy, understanding, resiliency, adaptability, and allowing them to hone in on their individual strengths. It’s not always easy being a home base for a tiny soul but it is ALWAYS rewarding.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Several come to mind, but I believe for me it’s always special watching them get to try new things or have new experiences together. We try to go to parks, museums, events outside in the summer, and are always very family centric. Being able to watch them learn how to be in the world and take care of one another will always be unforgettable to me. Being a blended family can come with some barriers at times, but we are lucky to be able to have more love in our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?Put some aside for the kids’ future, and I then will invest a good portion of the money into an organization designed to aid postpartum mothers. The children are amazing, but we often forget one of the most important piece of motherhood is caring for mom. More has to be done on a societal/systemic level for moms.
