My mom always listens even things I tell no one else. She always supports me and helps me reach my dreams.--Katherine, age 11
We would like to thank you for supporting Sharon Peterson in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing my children grow and thrive. We have four children, two are autistic and one is profoundly so with an intellectual disability. It makes my mama heart so, so happy to see each one find their passions and strengths and deal with challenges. And, not gonna lie, the free hugs are pretty awesome, too.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? My favorite moments with my kids are always the little, unexpected ones. Like the time we played shaving cream wars on the trampoline or hearing my mostly non-verbal song sing, "Take On Me" by a-ha and nail it. A most recent memory was this past Christmas when our family was asked to do the reading and candle lighting for Advent at our church. Each child had the chance to say something into the microphone. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. And that's what made it perfect.
What would you do with $20,000?We can always use money to pay of a bill or two, help our one kiddo who drives buy a safe, inexpensive car since he leaves for college in a year and a half. Those are all very practical. But the one thing I want to do more than anything is for my husband and me to getaway together. Since our first was born almost 19 years ago, we've never had the opportunity to go away together with the kids. Our 25th anniversary in in a year and a half and it would be wonderful to do something special.
