I am a single mom of three teenagers. I put myself through nursing school during a terrible divorce and a cancer diagnosis, and I did it!
We would like to thank you for supporting Shannon Colombai in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
My children is the most rewarding part. Watching them grow and become beautiful, smart, caring people is the most incredible feeling. Seeing that all the love and nurturing I gave them they are returning to the world. I am so incredibly proud of them. They saved me.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? There are so many good memories. But my absolute favorite, that made me cry, was the application college essay my oldest daughter wrote. You try so hard as a parent to protect them and give them a beautiful life. I made many sacrifices, I was very hard on myself about my divorce, you never know if you are doing the right thing, until that day. What she wrote enforced everything I had always tried to do and be for them. It was such a profound experience and exactly what I had needed to hear.
What would you do with $20,000?I would put it towards a house as I am currently paying and insane amount of rent to keep my kids in the school district that they know.
