Being a domestic violence survivor and a single mom starting from scratch to provide a better life for my girls is a strong super mom
We would like to thank you for supporting Shanita Ramos in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part is watching them heal from the trauma we endured and grow into fearless, strong resilient young women.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? When we fled with nothing to save our lives we lost everything and we were homeless for a while. The best memory I have is when I was able to get us into a "safe home". It is a home that is for domestic violence victims to live safely without fear. Their faces lit up when they realized it was their new home. It may not be fancy but it was home, our new home. Them telling me "Mama you did it, we are safe" is the best memory and feeling from our journey.
What would you do with $20,000?We lost so much, including my identity and since then I have been trying to find adequate work to afford everyday life in this inflated economy. I would simply survive with this money. I need it that bad.
