I juggle love, ambition, and resilience—raising three kids, including my autistic daughter—with patience and strength.
We would like to thank you for supporting Shakeriah Carter in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my children grow into their own beautiful, unique selves. It’s in the little moments—their laughter, their hugs, the way their eyes light up when they feel truly loved and understood. It’s knowing that, no matter what, I am their safe place. With my autistic child, it’s the deep joy of meeting her needs in a way that makes her feel seen. Even on the hard days, their The love reminds me that I am building something beautiful—our world, together.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? One memory I will never forget is my kids wanting to be under me daily. It is the simple moments that I feel the purest love. My daughter, who sometimes struggles with connection, reaches for my hand, and my heart melted. No matter how hard life gets, that moment reminds me that I am their safe place, their home. Their love is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever known, and I will cherish it forever.
What would you do with $20,000?If I had $20,000, I’d use it to build a future where my children and I can thrive. I’d invest in cybersecurity certifications to create stability, proving to my kids that perseverance changes lives. I’d also take a step toward my dream—formulating my hair care line. Most of all, I’d create memories with my children, giving them experiences filled with love and joy. This money wouldn’t just change my life; it would help me build a future where my children always feel safe, loved, and inspired.
