What makes me a super mom is me going to work full time, school full time and still making time for my son so we can have a better life
We would like to thank you for supporting Sequoia H in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
I’d say the most rewarding part about being a mom, is seeing your kid happy. May seem simple, but when you’re a single mom who struggles financially while going to school to strive for a better career so my son can live a better life than I did, seeing him living a care free, innocent life, with the love he shows me makes it all my stress and worries worth it. And with my son being autistic and non verbal it’s even more rewarding when he shows me his appreciation and love in his own special way.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? My son went non verbal at 1, and with me having my son at 18 unprepared with hardly any knowledge on intellectual disabilities, I had to do my research to better understand my son. And with speech therapy and patience at 4 years old I finally heard my baby voice for the first time when he said “Momma” a special day and moment I’ll never forget.
What would you do with $20,000?$20,000 would be the greatest blessing for me and my son, we currently live in a one bedroom one bathroom, 500 sq feet apartment with a pest problem. With $20,000 I’d finally and comfortably will be able to move my son into a better apartment, and will be able to pay off some of my student loans and provide for my son a bit easier. I’ll also be able to afford child care while I work and go to school.
