Savi Oellrich

As a single mom I do my best to make sure my son never goes unhappy. I work 5 days a week, 6 hours a day, and I always have time for my son.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being able to witness my son grow, learn, and thrive, as well as the amazing sense of my unconditional love and connection that comes with motherhood. My son is my everything and getting the chance to watch him change and grow is my everything, I wake up excited for what’s new to come when it comes to my son.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The very first day he started walking, I will never forget it. He has always struggled to hold himself up and balance while walking. When one day my little sister came home from college and he decided at the moment she walked through the front door, he would take a jump on life and start walking straight for her. My kid is my joy and seeing him get so excited seeing his aunts makes me the happiest mother any woman could ask for.

What would you do with $20,000?

Honestly, I would better my living situation not only for my kid and myself but also my siblings. After our mother passed they relied on me for everything and even before that they would ask me for anything no matter what it was. I want to do everything in my power to make sure myself, my son and my sisters don’t ever have to go without once my father moves. I want to make sure that we all have a roof over our heads, and food in our stomachs.
