Super mom of 4, including one with autism, working from home to stay flexible and present for my family.
We would like to thank you for supporting Samara Mitchell in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom to my child with autism—along with my three other kids—is witnessing their unique growth and celebrating every milestone, no matter how small. The moments of connection, the breakthroughs after struggles, and their pure, unfiltered joy make every challenge worth it. Watching my other kids learn patience, empathy, and unconditional love strengthens our bond. Knowing I’m their safe place and biggest advocate fills my heart like nothing else.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? One memory I’ll never forget is the first time all my kids played together, fully engaged and happy. My child with autism had struggled with social interaction, but on that day, he joined in—laughing, sharing, and truly connecting with his siblings. It was a simple moment, but it was pure magic. Seeing them all bond, without barriers, filled me with so much joy and hope. It reminded me that love and patience can bridge any gap, and those little victories mean everything.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, I’d focus on creating a secure, healthy environment for my children. I’d invest in a safe, sensory-friendly space at home where my child with autism can thrive while ensuring my other kids have a nurturing place to grow. I’d prioritize health—better nutrition, therapy, or educational resources to support their development. A portion would go into savings for future stability, ensuring they always have what they need to feel safe, supported, and loved.
