Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

To choose one answer out of the many I could give, it’s seeing love grow into a person. Everyday I grow more protective and attached to my son’s laughter- his joy, curiosity and strength. I am the guardian that lies beneath the bridge, always. I’ve been brought back to life, almost lost my liver, and lost something most important that I can’t replace- my brother. To experience raising my son, is to feel every piece of me being put back together. Even more so for my mother. He heals us all!

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Meeting him for the first time is something I’ll never forget. When they placed him in my arms, all I could think of is how much he shook and nuzzled me for shelter. The way he went quiet immediately, and looked up at me in acknowledgment. I understood I didn’t just bring life to this world, I became his world.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’ve never had so much money in my life, I had to think deeply on what I’d do. I’d set 10K aside for a Reach Higher college fund, as I’d want him to get the best education possible. So I have to start saving now! 2K for therapy for the loss of my brother, and my fiancés loss. Then the remaining would go to our forever home, the home we’ve been drawing plans for!
