Sabrina Lauriston

Even though I maybe in pain at times with osteoarthritis, I am able to be a nurse, mom, and caregiver to my Alzheimer’s family members.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is learning how to balance life and realize that life is not over after having my children and being a caregiver to my own mother with late Alzheimer’s disease. I am able to multitask to take care of my family as well as me. Balance is the key to maintain a good supportive nurturing environment as well as teach my children that they are loved always and hope that they will return the same actions when I get old too as I am being now with my mother.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

A memory of my children that I will never forget is when they show appreciation of me and what they have. My children expressed to me last Christmas that I did not need to buy them much gifts because they are appreciative of what they have and that they can see how hard that I am working to pay the bills and take care of them and their grandmother. This truly touched my heart that my children were humble and felt how I provided for them was the greatest Christmas gift.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use some of the $20,000 to renovate my home and then divide the rest of money to put into saving bank accounts for my two children.
