Saamia Andersen

Being a single mom of two children who works two jobs, has a difficult co-parent, and little to no support. I do it all running on low.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing the little moments where my children show how much they love and need me. It's in their smiles, their hugs, and the way they look to me for comfort and guidance. Despite all the challenges and sacrifices, those moments remind me that everything I do—no matter how tiring or overwhelming—is worth it. Watching them grow, learn, and become their own people is a beautiful experience, and knowing that I’m able to support them along the way.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The day my kids were born is a memory I’ll never forget. Holding them for the first time, feeling their tiny hands grasp mine, and seeing their faces made me realize what true love and responsibility were. That moment changed my life completely and marked the beginning of this incredible journey of motherhood. The overwhelming joy and love I felt in those first moments with them is something I’ll always cherish.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I had $20,000, I would use it to support myself and my children, helping to ease the financial strain we face. It would allow me to get ahead in my career and finances, giving me the breathing room to worry less about money. My goal would be to create more stability for our future so I can focus on being present with my children and truly enjoy their young years, instead of constantly feeling like I’m just trying to keep up.
