Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing my kids grow through life experiences that I’ve never had. The type of experience that money can’t buy. The heartfelt conversations, the big, loving hugs, helping them work through something that happened at school, being a witness to their awe at the little things in life that we take for granted. I get to be the loving and supportive mother that I had to go without. Having experienced both sides makes it even more special and something I’ll never take for granted.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

When my twin daughter’s were babies they used to make each other laugh in the best way. At dinner time they would throw their faces into their food and pop back up and let out the most hysterical giggle with their face covered in food. I would cry laughing and just let them do their thing, mess and all, because it brought so much joy to all of us. I have one very special picture of one of those exact moments, with some lentil soup.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would first give back some of it to other moms in need. Particularly single moms or moms with children struggling with food, housing, etc. Secondly, a much needed and well deserved family vacation. Working full-time with little help leaves very little room to turn off all the noise and just enjoy life together for any extended period of time the opportunity to do that and stay present in the moment while making core memories would make such an incredible impact on their childhood.
