Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing my children blossom in the things that they enjoy! Just watching their personalities come through and even how they engage with others makes my heart smile. No matter what I’m facing seeing their zest for life keeps me going.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Last year while my mother was in the hospital after suffering from a ruptured brain aneurysm I had a moment. I was on the phone with a good friend and I was crying, my son walks in and she’s explaining to him that I was sad and that’s why I was crying. My son paused and looked up at me and said go ahead and handle your business mommy and walked out of the room. In that moment I started to laugh but it warmed my heart see his compassion for me in my moment of need!

What would you do with $20,000?

I would treat myself to something special. This year for my birthday I was extremely depressed. I was about three weeks into being a full time caregiver to my mom and I was extremely overwhelmed. I would take that money and spend some time on me!! In that I would take the kids on a trip because it’s been an adjustment for them as well and they have been so helpful and supportive throughout this journey.
