Nely Reyna

I'm a single mom with two boys. I work and go to school full-time, but sadly I deal with anorexia, depression, and anxiety.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The hugs, giggles, and grins. I enjoy revisiting the magic of childhood through their experiences. I like being able to pass on my culture and heritage to them. I enjoy watching them grow. They are my reason to carry on when I feel like life is too hard. They help me ground myself and live in the moment.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The day that they were born. I would also add the day they took their first steps. I think when they said mommy it was one of the most unforgettable moments I experienced.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would pay all my debts I accumulated because of my bipolar disorder. I would buy a house so me and my kids could have something to call our own. I would pay to get help for my anorexia since my insurance isn't taken by most facilities that work with people with eating disorders.
