We would like to thank you for supporting Monique Harris in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my babies grow and accomplish their dreams. I had a hard life growing up and I always strive to ensure my babies never face the things I did. My oldest daughter has down syndrome and type 1 diabetes and seeing her overcome the many struggles that she faces daily with her life is absolutely amazing. Her brothers and sister include her and help her daily. My middle daughter is a mini version of myself. Both of my sons have huge hearts of gold.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I will never forget the first time my children got to go the ocean. It was a 17 hour car ride for us and they were so tired and wanted to be out of the car. We arrived in Florida around 4 am, my kids immediately forgot they were tired and we ran straight to the water no light or anything. The joy they had in the moment I will always cherish.
What would you do with $20,000?With 20,000 I would build two additional rooms on my house so that my kids can all have a room to their self or a down payment for a new home. I would also buy my oldest daughter a bed that we can set at an incline, because of her sleep apnea she has to sleep sitting up and I would love to be able to get her a better bed so she doesn’t have to sleep on a couch.
