Miani Campbell

My son makes me a super mom. When it comes to him I’ll always find a way. I will summon the strength to be whatever he needs me to be.

We would like to thank you for supporting Miani Campbell in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing how the effort I put into my son affects him, not just things I’m teaching him but also the time I spend with him. Watching him grow, watching his personality further develop is such a blessing.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory that I’ll never forget is when I first started sharing music with my son. I think I feel closest to my boy when we bond over our mutual love of music. I love classic rock and we were listening to we are the champions by Queen. I told him I started playing the guitar when I was 9, that I taught myself how to read sheet music and all, after learning this he told me that he wants me to teach him how to play so we can play together.

What would you do with $20,000?

First and foremost, I’d invest $1500 in high yield savings account for my son, pay down my debts (less than $8000) and then take the money that I’d been paying towards those debts and deposit monthly into my son’s HYSA. I’d buy us brand new guitars so we can play together. Lastly I’d use the rest to take him on a trip, it’ll be hard to choose where he’s got so many places he wants to go! Lately I’ll take the rest and just live within my means, without having to worry too much about finances.
