Mia Roberts

I know that I’m a Super Mom because I raised four children as a single mom, went to college and got two degrees and started my own business.

We would like to thank you for supporting Mia Roberts in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Raising children who are free thinkers, independent and kind. Sharing laughs, great memories and affection. When you see your children become amazing people right before your eyes with morals values and respect for life it is amazing. When your children stand on principles that they believe in it is rewarding. When integrity is more important than popularity you know you did your job correctly. That’s what’s most rewarding about being a mom.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I remember when I took my children to the YMCA to learn how to swim. I taught each of them how to swim working with them patiently. It was so much fun. I had some who were more confident and some that were more cautious. We spent half the day in the water each of us coming out looking like raisins. But we shared so many laughs and had so much fun and I watched over a short amount of time how my children follow my instructions and became little swimmers in a day. They were so brave and so silly.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won, I would take some of the money to purchase a vehicle for work since I currently don’t have one and live in a largely rural area. I would buy my mother flowers and a gift card to her favorite restaurant, I would get my 3 daughters and 1 son a beautiful keepsake. I would also use some of the funds to pay for my book to be published so that my story can inspire more people to see the champion in themselves. As a former foster youth and teen mom I have beat every statistic the system had.
