I have multiple sclerosis (MS), yet I do not let it stop me from being a mother and grandmother. I give back to others and my community.
We would like to thank you for supporting Melonie shelton in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching your child succeed in life. I’ve always been a single mom and my daughter’s biggest cheerleader. Now that she’s an adult, 27 years old, I get to watch her excel as a nurse. Yes, my daughter is now a nurse. I’m very proud of her!
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? One memory that sticks out in my mind happened while she was in daycare. For Mother’s Day they had to draw a picture of their mom and tell about their favorite dish that she cooks. Let me just say, I’ve never been a great cook. I’m also all about my makeup and hair. She brings home the drawing and I’m dying. My hair is pinkish red, and my lipstick is bright purple. Her favorite dish was macaroni and cheese and green bean casserole. She was so proud! I loved it and still do.
What would you do with $20,000?If I had $20,000, I would probably think it was a joke at first. Once it sunk in I’m sure I would cry happy tears. I would use the money to pay bills and get caught up. I know I should do something fun, but I have to be responsible. I would also use some money to start my dream program. The money would help me start a recovery program. Also celebrating my daughter is important for us to do.
