Raising warriors in faith, love, and grit—solo but never alone. Teaching resilience, leading with laughter, and fueled by God’s grace!
We would like to thank you for supporting Melissa Sparks in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom? Seeing my kids somehow turn out to be incredible humans despite my epic screw-ups. I’ve made mistakes—some real doozies—but watching them grow, heal, and still love me (and Jesus) anyway is the best gift. It’s the laughter in the chaos, the grace in the mess, and those rare moments when they actually listen that make it all worth it. Motherhood isn’t perfect, but it’s real, and that’s where the beauty is.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Their births, hands down. With my oldest, I was young and clueless, laughing as the nurses sang Baby Got Back while I prepped for my C-section—until the room went silent when he was born. That eternity of fear and panic shattered the second I heard his cry, and I was instantly in love. With my youngest, I knew what to expect, but I faced it alone. My ex was physically there but emotionally absent, and that contrast made her arrival even more powerful—just her and me, from the start.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d knock out some debt, finally finish our remodel to add a much-needed second bathroom (because one bathroom for the whole house is a daily battle), and stash some in savings for the inevitable surprises life throws my way. Practical? Yes. Life-changing? Absolutely—especially not having to referee bathroom wars every morning!
