Receive Text UpdatesThe most rewarding part of being a mom is who you become in the process. Parenting reveals your strengths and areas to grow, helping you evolve as a guide and person. It’s in the random hugs, the “I love yous,” the moments they reflect what you’ve taught—and also in watching them become their own person. God entrusts you with this sacred role, and through it, you grow just as much as they do. RIP Mom.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? We were back-to-school shopping when my daughter said, 'Let’s stop by Grandma’s.' I was tired, but we went. That ended up being our last visit—my mom passed days later. My daughter always brought us together, even when we didn’t see eye to eye. I call it the 'yellow shoes memory'—because of the shoes we bought that day, and the unforgettable love and timing she helped create.
What would you do with $20,000?I'd take my daughter on a healing road trip—our own “Family Reunion” adventure in a Winnebago or cruise—something to bring light after loss of my mom. We'd also invest in our music/theater project helping Black moms and daughters heal through hip-hop. If it stretches, a down payment on a home. If not? Massages and sound baths 'til the wheels fall off. I want to show her balance: build the dream, but rest too.
