What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part about being a mom is being able to both be my son’s source of a safety and security and also his friend. I’ve created a space where he can feel free to be honest to talk to me about anything. Even if he does something wrong he gets corrected not in trouble. I have a little best friend. I’m so fulfilled when I see him displaying principles I taught him like opening doors for women, looking someone in the eyes when he is speaking to them and apologizing when he is wrong.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My son’s first day of kindergarten I will never forget. He was not excited to go he was super nervous. I gave him a pep talk and walked him into class. I expected to stay a while but as soon as he sat down with his table of friends he said ok bye mommy love you. I broke down in tears he gave me a hug and told me it’s okay it’s only 4 hours. Little did he know school was longer than that. He had so much courage and he was so friendly. Proud mom moment.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use $20,000 to buy our first family home. I would like to pass this property on to my son to create home ownership from a young age. Something my family and prior generations have never experienced. I want him to have his safety net a childhood home. Also take Rowen on an island vacation because he is a water lover.
