Single mom of 2 boys—one with autism. I left abuse, work 2 jobs, built a business, wrote books, and turned pain into purpose for my kids.
We would like to thank you for supporting Melanie Aleman in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part is seeing the strength, resilience, and joy in my kids—especially knowing the battles we’ve faced together. Watching them grow into kind, unique, and confident individuals reminds me every day that the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, and the tears were worth it. Being their safe place, their teacher, and their number one fan is the greatest gift I’ve ever been given.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I’ll never forget the day my son was officially diagnosed with autism. I cried—not because I was scared, but because I finally had answers. It was the moment everything shifted. I realized I had to become his strongest advocate, and I did. That day marked the beginning of our journey—a path of learning, healing, and empowering not only him but so many others through my story.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, I would invest in expanding my business and create more resources for families navigating autism and special needs. I would fund programs and workshops for parents who feel overwhelmed and unseen, just like I once did. I’d use every dollar to build a platform that educates, supports, and uplifts—because no parent should feel alone, and every child deserves to thrive.
