Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching my kids use their skills to figure out solutions to obstacles in life. My daughter passed away June 14th 2023, but she was truly a master at this. When COVID took away spurts in 2020, Malia quickly pivoted to another passion, baking. Furthermore, she recognized our need for connection at this time and she set up Zoom cooking lessons to teach people what she was learning. It was awesome watching her. Similarly our son Kole persistently looked for a passion, until he discovered acting.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Malia was very sick with cancer 2021-2023. My son is 7 years younger than Malia and he often felt protected by by his big sister. However, seeing her sick, Kole really wanted to do something for Malia, so he worked with me to make her a steak dinner. We put candles out, and set the table. Kole was involved in every step. It ended up being the last meal we all cooked and sat together. I always remember how much they truly love each other.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would spend a portion on pediatric cancer research, a portion to help family’s that are enduring a pediatric cancer diagnosis, and I would take my son to Paris Disney. I was supposed to take Malia and the opportunity to take my son snd honor Malia’s memory would be incredible!
