Watching my daughters learn to not fear their own voice and listen to their body’s yeses and no’s. Of course there are a million little moments I can list as the rewards of motherhood, but the ability to heal my inner child and honor my children’s own individuality by changing the trajectory of our lineage is by far the most rewarding piece. What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My third daughter’s home birth. Obviously the labor and birth itself was unforgettable, but the moments after were my favorite part. Snuggling up in my own bed with all my babies who have co slept, watching my two oldest help the nurses with the placenta and taking pride in their new baby sister. Not being interrupted by the busyness of a hospital but just soaking in the most precious moments of a new family of five in the comfort of our home.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would take 10% for tithes, split between our church and donations to families who need help. I would set aside another 10-20% for our first family vacation. My oldest is turning 9 and has not ever been on a vacation other than seeing family. And I would use the rest to help pay down debt/pay for much needed projects in our home.
