Martha Liriano

Raising up my three kids on my own without the help of anyone financially has been a lot yet a Blessing. I needed them to help me level up.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Getting to know the individuals you gave birth to, while seeing them evolve to whom they naturally are. I love seeing genes kick in which influence their way of thinking and being. I've Learned more about myself as I've disciplined them. Being a parent requires one to learn to communicate, it forces us to see who we are because we notice- kids learn more from our actions and not only our words.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Teaching them the value of teamwork. As a single mother I structure our household by splitting responsibilities; having candid conversations with them about things we've had to face along with their own challenges and how to deal with people has certainly forced us 4 to see the value that we each bring; it has helped in identifying the path for growth for each of us. My two oldest are now young adults, the conversations we've held over the years has helped them make sound decisions.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would pay off debt. Having been on my own since I was 15 years old after my single mother passed away next to me in a bad car accident- life and bills have built up. I've been able to buy my own house but with the care of my kids and constant bills- there have been some bills that I've tried to pay off but haven't been able to. With the $20,000 it would help me pay off debt so I can finally do some home renovations.
