What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my children grow and learn. Seeing them blossom into their own individual self and find their interests and aspirations is amazing. Not only watching my children but my kids (students). Seeing the growth in all of them and watching them blossom is a blessing every day.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory for my oldest is last summer when he caught his first fly ball in baseball. The pure shock and happiness he had on his face all at once. He was so proud of himself and for a while believed in himself that he could do anything. If I could bottle that up and give it to him every day instead of seeing him questioning himself I would. To see that confidence & happiness on his face. With my youngest coming out of eye surgery when he was a year old. He was a drunken sailer with his bottle.

What would you do with $20,000?

It would all go towards my family. Without my family I wouldn’t be here. Through my SLE (lupus) diagnosis in 2012, RRMS (multiple sclerosis) diagnosis in 2017, Ovarian Cancer 2021, Heart Attack (SCAD) in Dec 2022, Cervical Cancer 2023 (hysterectomy in Feb 2025) and sprinkle on Fibromyalgia and Arthritis I’m a walking medical disaster. Everyday is a blessing that I get up can: get ready, put on my makeup, pick out my heels, and go teach high school English.
