Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

When I hear my children call me mom or randomly tell me they love me. It makes me feel like they see and feel the love I have for them. Mothering children that have been rejected and hurt by their birth mother, is an honor and one I do not take lightly.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I’ll never forget the time my son apologized to me for our tumultuous relationship and the part that he played in getting it to that point. I remember when he finished, I apologized to him for my part. I felt like I was too critical and that led to his rebellion. He interrupted me and said mom you don’t owe me an apology so I won’t accept it. He told me that he should’ve been showing gratitude and appreciation for all the sacrifices I made for him and his sister whom I adopted.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use a portion of the funds to help a few of my children write a children’s book and publish it. Lastly I’d use the remaining funds towards a bigger home for my children.
