From shattered dreams to shatterproof spirit: 6 years sober, healing lives through social work, building legacies & showing my kids anything
We would like to thank you for supporting Lauryn Cook in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Being a mom means witnessing pure magic in everyday moments. It's seeing my reflection in their smiles and finding strength I never knew I had. The most rewarding part might be watching them grow into their own person while carrying pieces of me forward. The sleepless nights fade from memory, but the first "mama," the tight hugs, the handmade cards, and the "I did it!" moments stay forever. Nothing compares to being the safe place where they return to share both tears and triumphs.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I'll never forget taking my girls horseback riding in Wyoming near Yellowstone. Neither had ever been, and seeing their faces light up as we rode beside towering mountains was priceless. The landscape stretched endlessly around us—vibrant wildflowers, crystal streams, and that big sky that seems to go on forever. We still talk about how the horses carefully picked their way along the trails while we soaked in views that made our hearts skip. Pure magic that no photo could ever capture.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, I could finally give my girls something they've never had—a place to call our own. No more shared walls or borrowed space. Just a permanent home where we can plant a garden, paint their bedroom walls without permission, and create traditions that don't depend on someone else's roof. My daughters deserve to know what "going home" really means. They deserve stability. With your vote, you're helping me win but it will show my two girls what it means to truly belong somewhere.
