Single mom to 6, earned my Social Work degree with honors recently, working full-time advocating for survivors, and raising future leaders!
We would like to thank you for supporting Lacovia Harper in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
Being a single mom to six, including triplets, has been both challenging and rewarding. The complexities of raising them have shaped me in ways I never expected. Each day is an opportunity to grow alongside them—teaching, guiding, and learning. Through their smiles and struggles, I’ve discovered strengths I didn’t know I had. They inspire me to keep pushing forward, and in raising them, I’ve become the woman I am today—resilient, compassionate, and proud.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? One memory I’ll never forget is announcing I was buying a house and letting my kids pick between my top two choices. Their joy and pride in choosing our new home was unforgettable. In 2013, I was homeless, living in a shelter with my two oldest while pregnant with triplets. Fast forward to 2022, and becoming a first-time homebuyer was a triumph for all of us—showing how far we’ve come together.
What would you do with $20,000?If I had $20,000, I’d finally do a professional photoshoot with my kids—we’ve never had one, and I want to capture our bond. I’d also take us on a vacation, something we’ve never experienced, and create unforgettable memories. Additionally, I’d buy a new car since we’ve always relied on public transportation or ride-sharing. These experiences would be life-changing for us, marking a new chapter of joy and independence.
