Kylah Mcmillon

I don’t wear a cape, I carry books, dreams and my son’s future. I’m earning my Master’s to show him anything is possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mother is knowing I’m shaping a life. Watching my son grow and navigate the world reminds me that my presence matters. The sacrifices, the late nights, the tough moments, all are worth it when I see him becoming his own person. Motherhood is about breaking cycles, creating stability, and showing up no matter what. Knowing I’m his foundation and his first example of strength is the greatest reward.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One memory I’ll never forget is the first time my son reached for me when he was hurt. In that moment, I realized I was his safe place, the person he trusted to comfort and protect him. It was a reminder that motherhood isn’t just about providing; it’s about being the one constant in a world that can feel uncertain. That kind of bond, that kind of trust, it’s something no one can prepare you for, but once you feel it, you understand the true weight of being a mother.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won $20,000, the first thing I would do is put it toward paying off my student debt as I work on my Master’s degree. Education has always been a priority for me, and this would lift a huge financial burden while allowing me to focus on my goals. I’d also invest in creating a better future for my son, whether that’s saving for his education or providing him with new opportunities. This money wouldn’t just change my life, it would set the foundation for his as well.
