Kotina Forbes

I set high standards for myself; even in the way that I raise my children. I love them unconditionally. They are my gifts from God!

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is witnessing the growth and transformation of your children over time. It’s like planting seeds in a garden—you put in the care, the nurturing, the love, and then you watch them grow into their own unique individuals. Each moment of their development, from their first words to their little milestones, feels like a reflection of all the effort and energy you've poured into them. You nurture them, teach them, and guide them through life.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My son was nonverbal until he was three years old. He barely cried and he never fussed. One day when he was three, I was making him homemade oatmeal(that was his favorite food) I was facing the stove stirring and I suddenly hear “I don’t want oatmeal please”, I could not believe it! His first words were a full sentence! After the shock wore off I knew that I had been given a special gift. Being his Mom has enriched my life and taught me valuable lessons.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won $20,000, I would invest half, give a donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, and take my children on a trip once I get better.
