DV survivor who never lost hope. Making my ancestors proud while fighting for Indigenous voices. Icon to my kids.
We would like to thank you for supporting KL Chino in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
In my indigenous culture, we are a matriarch. Carrying life, stories, songs, lessons, and teaching them to our children is the most rewarding feeling. Knowing through ancestral heritage these were passed on to me, and I have to honor to pass it on to my children. My job is to protect the future generations. We cannot be erased.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?Allowing them to introduce themselves in their native language (dine bizaad). They were close with my late mother and would take care of her throughout her sickness while I worked to keep afloat. Selfless girls who cooked, cleaned, and bathed their grandma. I couldn't repay them enough.
What would you do with $20,000?$20,000 would help so much after being in a debt to my mothers funeral, her medical bills, my uncles funeral, and a $10k biohazard clean up cost for his murder. All within a month. I'm jsut trying to survive and I believe in good karma. When you help others, they will help you. Nonetheless, I rarely see indigenous women/people in spaces such as this. It would be nice to have recognition of the hardship we face as native women. #MMIP - SAY HER NAME
