Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is the experience itself. I feel grateful that God chose me to carry a child when so many women don’t get the opportunity to do so for various reasons. The experience of sharing the greatest gift we can give, love, with my biggest blessing every day makes being a mom so rewarding. Through the ups and downs, sad days and the “Mommy, I did it!” moments, makes the whole experience rewarding and almost surreal.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

One of my favorite memories of my daughter is when she tackled her fear of swimming. She swam well with her instructors, but when it was time for her to jump in and swim by herself she would freeze at the starting line and remain there for the rest of the lesson. After practicing at our place and weeks of positive encouragement, she finally jumped in all by herself. Now, she’s the first one in the pool when we go swimming. I’ll never forget that “Mommy, I did it!” moment.

What would you do with $20,000?

When I homeschooled my daughter, I always believed in teaching a lesson and then letting her experience it firsthand. We love to travel, and I’d love for her to visit Kenya to go on a safari, experience the culture through dance and music, and immerse herself in nature. She has a deep love for animals, different cuisines, and new experiences, so this trip would be an unforgettable way for her to learn beyond books and explore the world in a meaningful way.
