Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Developing my two kids and the kids that I coach (sometimes I feel like their mom) to be awesome adults one day. I live into the saying of "be the person you needed as a child." I love encouraging autonomy and individualism in my kids and celebrating their milestones. No matter how "small" they may be, they were mountains for them and that is worth encouragement! We all contain multitudes that's why I love watching my son play football, the viola, and draw his animations.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The memory I will never forget about my kids is the WONDER in their eyes when they saw their first massive dinosaur skeleton at the Field Museum. I grew up in Chicago but this was their first time in a big city but when it came to the Field Museum when we stepped off the elevator I had them close their eyes and I led them to the foyer where the several story tall brachiosaurus stood. I counted to three and when they opened their eyes their jaws hit the floor and wonder lit up their eyes.

What would you do with $20,000?

If awarded $20,000 I would put some towards a family car since my kids and their friends never stop growing, and take them on more experiences that fill them with WONDER! (in that family car!) I know that a beach is on their bucket list, but so is Montanna and learning from more national parks. I may even spend some on a studio for me and my children to do our art and writing projects and to have enough space for their friends and community kids to engage in projects too!
