Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing my child thrive and grow each day. She is the light of my life, the bond and love we share for each other is the most rewarding and warming feeling ever. All the special moments such as school events and daily family time gives me the strength to keep going most days.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

My daughter is autistic and has apraxia of speech. I will never forget the day my daughter spoke for the first time to the point that I understood her. I had never heard her voice before and that lit my whole world up in that moment. All she said was “no” but to me it was like she had spoke an entire sentence.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would send my daughter to a school that centers around her needs and disabilities. This will give her the best possible chance to succeed to the best of her abilities. I am a single parent and there are financial challenges I face being that I am a full time student pursuing a career in dental hygiene. The $20,000 would give my daughter and I the push and head start we need to continue the dreams and goals I have set for us both. That amount of money would change our lives.
