I overcame obstacles from previous marriage of 14 years that left us homeless but now a homeowner and teaching my children to thrive.
We would like to thank you for supporting Karina Johnson in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The rewarding part of being a mom is when your children stop and realize how much you've sacrificed and suffered in order for them to live a life that is full of love understanding and care. My daughter, age 16 wrote me the other day stating that her boyfriend was in tears crying because of how his childhood was and told my daughter how blessed she was to have a mom who cared for her and had sincere concern for her well being because his parents didn't. She wrote me for thanking me for who I was
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? After being homeless in a shelter my kids only remember all of the good times that we had regardless. Because the shelter was downtown we had immediate access to the waterfront park which had the best water sprinklers and all of the best cultural festivals you could stand and we took advantage of all of them. I refuse to short change my children on life because of the poor life decisions that their dad had made. We didn't have much money but I gave what I had, all the love inside of me.
What would you do with $20,000?With 20,000 dollars the first thing that I would do is pay for the class trip my daughter has been longing to go on out of the country. She's in all advanced classes makes good grades and works a part time job. I know this trip would expand her thinking and view of the world so much. She works so hard and gives 100% effort and deserves to have the best. With the rest of the money I would purchase my son who is graduating a car for his graduation and add a bathroom to our house. We only have 1.
