We would like to thank you for supporting Karen Ochieng in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is the deep, unconditional love shared between a mother and her child(ren). It’s in the little moments—the sleepy cuddles in the morning, the laughter that fills the house. It’s, hearing them say “I love you” out of nowhere, and knowing that, no matter what, you are their safe place. Being a mom means watching your child grow into their own person. Through every challenge and sacrifice, the love makes it all worth it!

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

Watching my son succeed despite his learning disability fills my heart with pride. Every challenge he overcomes reminds me of his strength and determination. Seeing him excel in school is one of the greatest joys of my life. For my daughter, now an adult, one of my proudest moments was when she came out to me as bisexual. I know it wasn’t easy for her, but I’m grateful she felt safe enough to share her truth. She knows that no matter what, I will always love and support her unconditionally.

What would you do with $20,000?

First, I will tithe because, with God, all things are possible! Then, I will give back—starting with my mother, who has always been there for me. She’s supported me through everything, and I want to show my deep appreciation for all she has done. After that, I will use the rest to put a down payment on a home for my family, creating a place where we can grow, make memories, and build our future together. Giving, gratitude, and family will always come first in my heart.
