Kamekka Bushrod

Late nights, early mornings. I do it all for them. I don’t miss a beat, tired and dragging but I’m always present. I love it.

We would like to thank you for supporting Kamekka Bushrod in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

My children telling me I’m the best mom in the world and mean it. Knowing my kids understand they can come to me about any and everything knowing we get through it together. Being a mother is the most rewarding and I’m grateful for my kids everyday.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

We were all in my bed supposed to be taking a nap, I was exhausted. Next thing you know I awake to police flash lights in my face. Turns out my middle daughter in fact didn’t nap with us instead called 911 (3 at the time) and told them she was hungry and thirsty and mommy wouldn’t wake up. She stayed on the phone with them and took all commands in insuring it was them and opened the door. They were very proud of her and I was also lol. With that, I got her a snack and she went right to sleep.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it as a down payment on a home. My kids deserve to have a space to call their own and have their own rooms. My son is 13 and my daughters are 12 and 9. My babies don’t complain and are the most humble kids I know. We don’t come from much but I have done my best to insure my kids don’t know the struggle I knew at their age. They do know I work my butt off for everything we have and are very appreciative.
