What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

As a mom, the most rewarding part is seeing your children overcome obstacles, & learn to believe in themselves the way I always believed in them. They have unique gifts that make them successful, amazing, & happy people. It is good to see that I have worked to be a better mom than who raised me since my birth family & adopted family did not persevere. I will always be their rock whenever they need me. They are so beautiful, & hearing them laugh is the most breathtaking thing in the world.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

There are so many memories I have. I will say it's when I saw the heartbeat of my daughter and then my son since I was told I couldn't conceive. Fertility treatments didn't work, which included a failed IVF. But then there they were. Everything I've done with them has been a gift. I especially loved taking them to Disney & seeing them experience everything. It all was such a wonder to them. They were amazed to see fireworks as if it was their first time ever. I still see those images.

What would you do with $20,000?

My kids are moving out & starting independent lives so I'd like to downsize. I'd use part of the money as a down-payment for a little cottage on Lake Ontario. That has always been a dream of mine. I'd also use a portion as college graduation gifts for my children. School was not easy for them & they will both be graduating with Distinction & have been on the Dean's list every semester. I hope they feel the same pride I do! Also, our dog needs knee surgery on both hind legs. It's $6,000 a knee.
