Being a single mom is not the life I wanted but it was the best option. I’d rather him grow up seeing me happy than with someone mistreat us

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being able to share the highs and lows with someone I created. Watching him grow into the little man he is. Seeing how caring and tender hearted he has become and continues to be. The cuddles. The kisses. The endless laughter. Seeing the joy on his face that brings joy to my own life. The secret handshakes. Quoting songs and movies. Sharing my childhood memories and making new ones together. The pride of seeing him be proud of himself. The way he looks at me like I’m the most important person.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I have been single for a few years now. My son told me he needed to have a talk with me and that I needed to come sit on the couch. He told me that I was kind, helpful, and so loving. That I deserved someone who truly loved me and told me not to give up because if I gave up, I will never find that person. That he wants to see me with someone who treats me well. Even only being 8 years old, he is wise beyond his years and wants the best for his mama.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would take my son traveling. He has been asking for years to go to national landmarks and national parks. He says he wants to be a president in his “spare time” but he can’t run a country if he hasn’t seen important places in his country. I would also love to take him to Japan. We bond over sushi. He says he just needs to go where sushi is from. I am a single mom currently without the luxury of child support. Being able to tell him that we are able to take off and go somewhere, would be a dream
