What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom for me is the humble, ongoing journey toward reuniting our family. Every faithful step taken across the distance, every sacrifice made, deepens our shared bond. It’s in these gentle moments of hope and persistence that I find the true essence of motherhood—resilience, love, and the grace of coming together again.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

I’ll never forget the moment I saw my kids again after years apart. When I returned to The Gambia last year, they ran to me—laughing, crying, calling out “Mom!” We collapsed into each other’s arms, holding on like we’d never let go. Time stood still. In that embrace, all the distance, all the waiting—it disappeared. Only love remained.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would begin the next phase of our journey—working to bring our oldest son to the U.S. He aged out of the visa our family just received. After years apart, reuniting with him would finally make our family whole.
