The most rewarding part of being a mom is being a witness to my daughter’s growth. Watching a nonverbal, beginning walker, low muscle tone, developmentally delayed, behaviorally challenged daughter GROW, gives me strength. Colors, letters, shapes, numbers, sign language, and physical strength have been areas that Jacie has excelled in over the years. So even through every challenge and sleepless night, the reward is in her resilience. She keeps trying to through every obstacle, she’s growing!
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget? One memory that I’ll never forgot is the day she was born. Throughout my pregnancy there were conversations with doctors about potential brain structure and issues. However, when she was born the whole room was silent! Silent because her umbilical cord was around her neck AND my baby’s legs were up by her head! No doctor in the hospital could tell me what was wrong with her legs! We didn’t prepare for this! Every doctor that came to my room had no answers!
What would you do with $20,000?What would I do with $20,000?! Everything! Haha! Honestly, I’ve fought with insurance company for over 3 years to get Jacie a Cubby bed! This bed ensures her safety while she’s asleep! She can’t elope or pinch all-night, the aggressive behavior would be able to be contained! After fighting for so long I gave up, because I’m tired! So I would buy my baby the $13,000 Cubby Bed, and invest in a caretaker that would be able to assist me with taking care of Jacie on a daily basis.
